Programs Supported by the SJF

 

UJA/Federation Annual Campaign is the main focus of Springfield Jewish Federation. The funds raised during this annual event are distributed to various organizations and causes, locally, nationally, and abroad.

Chaverim and Social Services offers seniors a social opportunity to congregate, enjoy programs and a kosher meal once a week. Crisis intervention and assessment services are also provided by our own licensed staff social worker.

Adult Education provides continuing Jewish education to adults in the community. Programs offered include lectures, videos, and guest speakers.

Youth and Family provides programs (ranging from educational seminars to entertainment) for families and children. This program also features our very own day camp, Kibbutz Kulanu.

Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), is the public relations arm of SJF. The JCRC is comprised of members of the Jewish community who keep up to date on issues concerning and of interest to the Jewish community, advocate on behalf of Israel and speak out against anti-Semitism and other forms of discrimination and bigotry.

 

Young Leadership identifies and fosters leadership among young adults by providing programs and additional educational resources.

Hillel is an entity for college students that provides a full realm of religious services. Holiday packages are sent to our students on Passover and Chanukah.

Maimonides, comprised of health professionals, this group strives to provide fellowship, foster community leader-ship in ethical/moral issues, provide educational/cultural enrichment, support & strengthen Jewish life, and focuses on matters pertaining to the Jewish community.

Endowment monitors trusteeship and solicits donations. They also underwrite special needs projects.

Future of the Springfield Jewish Community is a joint venture of Springfield Jewish Federation and the two local temples. Their mission is to create a shared vision for the community’s future, and develop strategies for reaching that vision.

The PJ Library can be reached at www.pjlibrary.org. In partnership with the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, the federation provides books and CDs of Jewish materials to families with children ages 6 months to 7 years.
